Yoga for the Soul
Intention. Commitment. Discipline.
A consistent effort with clear intentions, using the practice and philosophy of Kundalini yoga and meditation, to relate to your true identity through consciousness, not through personality.
Through the practice you develop - both during session work and at home - you’ll begin to have experiences that show you that happiness and power flow from your divine essence (soul, spirit, intuition, universal intelligence, God, however you choose to language it), not from the habits and seductions of the personality and its author, the Ego.
Ego is here to serve you and your higher purpose and aspirations, NOT to steer the ship and make your decisions for you. The ego is fueled by one thing: Fear. And decisions made out of fear are not conscious and therefore only perpetuate the cause and effect “reality” (more popularly know as karma) that most people choose to live and feel subject to.
Are you committed to breaking the patterns (of emotionality and reaction) that keep you trapped in the fear cycle instead of living from the inspired place of conscious recognition of who you really are?
Is your intention to truly change, from the inside out, so that you can have a better life and better relationships?
Will you apply discipline to the work it takes, both in sessions and in your own personal practice, in order to get from here to there?
The Center for Applied Consciousness is a springboard not a crutch, and it’s up to you to create the results.
Ayurveda is often considered the sister-science of yoga, and the two work harmoniously together to optimize our health and well-being on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level.
At our sister studio, Pacific Coast Yoga, we offer yoga and movement classes to compliment Ayurveda, and a focused yoga program for those wanting to walk a disciplined yogic lifestyle.

In a nutshell, the work is a combination of yoga kriyas (postures), meditation techniques, mantra and breath-work alongside yogic/ayurvedic lifestyle coaching to help you pinpoint habits and patterns that are keeping you from a balanced and harmonious life of conscious choice over karmic reaction.
It starts with an in-depth initial consultation with Yogi and co-founder, Joe Rich, in which he uses Ayurveda and Yogic Numerology in order to pinpoint your challenges and strengths as well as the issues you need to transform, and what patterns are in the way.
The consultation addresses your life holistically: the spiritual, physical, and psychological components as well as dietary considerations for your Ayurvedic dosha (body type) and specific physical issues.
Your willingness to commit to making active, conscious changes in all these categories is essential to successful transformation.
The goal of follow-up counseling/consulting sessions is to help you get clear about what you need to step into conscious choice in all areas of your life and then applying commitment, intention and discipline through the practice to get there.
The rational mind and the ego have to be set aside in favor of creating experiences that pave the way for breaking the patterns that keep you from being your best, balanced Self.
